Happy Feet Friday

If you've been coming for the socks, I'm sure you're disappointed. Two weeks in a row with no socks! I'm wearing my tennis shoes because I thought (emphasis on the thought) about walking to work today. Mostly, I feel like a horrible, no good citizen of the world because I drive my car all six blocks to work. Seriously. Six blocks. You can hate me now - that would be fine. But here's my excuse. More often than not, I'm headed somewhere else after work - usually to a meeting. And work is between my house and the club - so I'm headed on my way anyway and don't do any backtracking. THAT'S my excuse.

Now, you'd think what with my complaining about the state of my body and swimsuit season coming up, that I'd walk anyway and then walk back and then drive to the meeting. Or even *gasp* ride my bike or something. But I don't. Not in the spring anyway. Because for all I know - it will start blizzarding before the end of the work day.

I am going to hate on it. Thats right I said it. Its out there now. I mean the boots last week were the bee's knees. Tennis shoes? Babe, what happened?

I'm envious.

Honestly, I would just like to put on shoes instead of boots but I am trying patience and telling myself (aha! naive one!) that the last storm, which dumped another 12 inches, was surely the last and that maybe, just maybe, actual driveway will emerge soon that real shoes can walk on without slipping on the ice.
Phew. I feel better - thanks.
Enjoy walking in your sneakers!

i'm not hating. i drive .6 miles to PT 2 days a week. Same reason as you- I'm usually going somewhere afterward.

We are two peas in a pod, Baby Girl. I usually have such good intentions, but then laziness and excuses have the final say so.

I like those sneakers.

You play tennis?

And that's why I like not having a driver's license. I don't have a choice. So I walk my butt into shape whether or not its convenient (and sometimes it's really inconvenient).

Good for you for at least entertaining the thought! :)

No,no, no, Miss Kate. You musn't ride your bike in springtime. There's so much sand on the road that you're certain to hit some and slip and fall and get a nasty cut or WORSE!

You could hit your head on the sidewalk, forget who you are, and start peeing your pants every time someone turns on the TV.

There. I've justified not biking for you.

You're welcome.

Ah the luxuries of having a car. I think I would drive too.
