So, I was reading this study the other day... And no, it wasn't the Journal of the American Medical Association. I finished those up before Christmas. Really, I'm just waiting for the South Dakota Public Health Bulletin. But I digress. It was something to the effect that the way people walk is an indicator of their inner confidence. Those that walk with their head up, looking straight ahead with long, purposeful strides are often very self-confident. So, as I was walking in to work today, I was reminded of that.

Well. If you live in South Dakota in the winter with the ice and snow and you look straight ahead and take big strides without care? You're a dumbass.

And that's all I have to say about that.

I don't think they took SDAK winters into account. More like Florida in the springtime.

No kidding. Your neck would freeze, then your head would fall off. At least that's how I feel when it's 45 and raining here in Portland.

LOL. Same applies to those of us in your neighboring state this fine winter (and every freaking winter).

Baby steps is more akin to my stride once the snow/ice/crap hits.

And sorry, late on the bday wishes - was offline since last week! Yipes.

There is a study for everything......and another study to counter the first....and likely, subsequent studies to counteract all previous studies....it's a vicious cycle, but everyone needs to feel important....that's the purpose of the studies, right?

Hahahaha! I understand that completely! My stride turns into more of a shuffle around here in winter!

And as tall as I am if I don't look down when I'm walking I'm sure to trip over any number of confident people.

Ha good point.

Although I wouldn't know about walking with ice and snow. It rarely ever snows here and when it does it rarely ever accumulates. The last time it snowed AND stayed on the ground for more than an hour was 2007.

Hahaha - so very true. I was just thinking something along those lines as I walked the dog through the icy park at lunch!
