Happy Feet Friday

See my pretty toesies? Dirty Ben wanted to get a pedicure, but he was too afraid to go by himself, so he bought me one too, just so I'd sit next to him. He got his toes painted shiny black. Did I mention that my friends are freaks?

I bought tomato and pepper plants last night. And as usual, I went overboard. I was going to get three kinds of tomatoes and I ended up with four. One pepper plant also turned into four. I'm going to have produce coming out my ears. I better think about how I'm going to eat it all up. I also got an onion set to put in when the radishes are done - which will be any day now. And since I so patiently waited to put my tomatoes in? I got all those plants for 8 dollars! They were already on sale! Win.

Now get this! I was perusing the garden this morning, thinking about where I'm going to put that extra tomato plant and I got sad. SAD. Because once these are in, I'm not planting anything else. What kind of weirdo am I? Sigh. Like I've said before, I've been obsessed with worse things.

Also, please weigh in here. There's an honest to goodness matchmaking service here in town. These two gals have been doing it for years now. They interview you, they interview all the guys, they set you up, etc. What?! I don't know. I mean, it's pretty obvious that I don't go enough places to meet eligible men. That's part of the problem. So after all these years of trying to find people online, I might just give it a try. It's quite expensive, but if I add up all the money I've spent over the years on internet dating sites, it's not that much. I'm pondering it. Ponder. Ponder. Ponder. The guy has to put up with my garden lust, you know.

That's a gorgeous color! What color is it?

As for the matchmaking service, I say go for it! I would hope that since they are vetting the people for you, there are fewer bad dates. Also, if they are millionaire matchmakers, that could work out really well for you.

No idea the name of the color. I just knew I didn't want sparklies in it.

I think the matchmaking service sounds like an interesting alternative to internet dating. You would have someone "on your side" being the clearing house for you with the guys....why not give it a shot?

PS - Dahlia is sitting next to me & thinks your toes are pretty.

The matchmaking service sounds interesting. I'd give it a shot.

I planted my pie pumpkins last weekend, and my flower bed yesterday, and a friend unexpectedly brought me a bunch of plants that I still need to transplant, but after that I'll be done too. I'm actually just looking forward to watering and watching them grow now, though.

I say GO FOR IT. when you do not have a job where you are constantly in contact with new people each day, I think a dating service is WELL worth it. and you are completely right...if you added up all the $$$ on the other services that you'd spent, it likely would at least even out. is there a specific time that you are committed for? do you pay by the month?

As far as I know, it's a one time deal. I haven't called them yet, and their website is not super informative. I think they just really want you to call and find out what their services are like. I have a friend who told me about it. She thinks its about $300. She wants to do it, too.

How a complete stranger can match a stranger with another stranger and have it work is beyond me...

Nice pedi! I absolutely love getting pedis, it's the little things that make me feel pretty and make my day :)

I don't know what to tell you. I've sworn off online dating, did my share of it (maybe more than my share) and I'm done now. I think if you put it out there and truly believe he will find you, then he will. But that's just me, do what you feel is right for you.

Ooh I'm intrigued by the matchmaking process. Seems like they work well on those TV shows. Plus my friend is in an arranged marriage (he's Indian and it's their custom). He's VERY happy. I know the monies are a lot, but if it works, think about how it's a drop in the bucket for your future and lifetime happiness :)

PS I'm still jealous of your gardening and cooking abilities!

Do it. The revenue from your blog posts about it will make you millions :)

I say if you are still thinking of the matchmaking in a month, contact them. Save your pennies during that month, too.

You can make and can/jar a bunch of homemade marinara sauce with all those peppers, onions, and tomatoes! How awesome would that be? To have homemade marinara all year long?!?! I am jealous.

When it comes to dating, I think the more face-to-face time with people involved in finding a good match, the better. I say go for it!

I'd want to interview those matchmakers before they interviewed me. I'd want to know how they define success, what's their success rate, what's the current pool of guys vs. girls. If you're shelling out a lot of money, I'd want to know that it's going towards the possibility of success, y'know?!? Happy weekend, my green thumb friend!

I LOVE pedicures. Don't they make you feel great? My brother in law does "Daddy and me" days with my niece. Last month she wanted to get pedicures together and off they went. I salute guys who do that!

"Matchmaker, matchmaker find me a match", go for it. What's the worse that could happen? Nothing. That's what. And you already have that (in the dating world).

And don't worry about the garden. The weeds will keep you busy!!

I love how you post pictures of toes from the future.

05/17/2066? Are you the Terminator?

Peace and blessings,

'The guy has to put up with my garden lust, you know.'

indeed he does...he should know that going into it....but then maybe he could eat some of the returns from such passionate gardening...how could he complain? :)
