Yikes. That must have been a little personal. Hang in there. It will get better.
I avoid movies like that. I cried at Sex and the City. Can you imagine what would happen with P.S. I Love You? Million Dollar Baby almost killed me.
Wowsa. I think you watching that was even worse than it would be for me to watch Sophie's Choice (which I'm not sure I could recover from).
At the least I will hope it was cathartic for you.
