Conscience is killing me.

A dog ran into my car today. It was horrible. It bolted when it saw another dog across the street. Apparently it's not my fault, according to the police report, but it was pure awfulness. And apparently it's totally not my fault because there are leash laws here, but I can't seem to be okay with going to this lady and asking her to pay to fix the huge dent in my new car. I hate this.

Oh, I feel awful for you. I ran over a squirrel and about lost it, so I can't even imagine a dog.

Maybe you can call your insurance agent and have them handle it? They can fix it and then get reimbursed from her homeowners ins.

Oh god...that's terrible for everyone. Definitely a no win situation.

Oh, that's terrible! I'm so sorry that happened to you, Kate. I have come close in our neighborhood more than once, and it's sooo scary.

As for the dent, see if you can get your insurance company to handle it. That's what they're there for. It still amounts to the same thing, but at least you don't have to do it in person.

That sucks dude.

That is, indeed, suckage.

Before you try to have your insurance company take care of it, make sure it won't drive your rates up to get them involved.

I am a prick but the owner is really to blame here and, even if you did not care about the dent, I say the owner should be made to pay. You don't deserve this and neither did the dog. The one person who could have stopped it is that owner and all it would have taken was her following the law and keeping her dog on a leash. You should not feel sorry for making her own up to this.

that is so sad... I once had a deer run into my car and I was so sad because I worried about the deer dying. I'm such a sucker for animals.
