Worked Up. And Not In a Good Way. Maybe.

I drove home in a frenzy of anxiety last night. I'm leaving for New York on Friday and I have NOTHING DONE! No laundry. No packing. Not even a list. What have I been doing? How did this sneak up on me so quickly? And didn't I realize that I was out of cat food and that I want clean sheets when I get home? I'm thinking, "Pull yourself together, woman!" My hands were shaking, I was so worked up. And then I sat down and surfed the internet all night.

Hrmph.

And I might have talked for a long time with Mr. Internet vs. 8.0 whom we will now refer to as Mr. Minnesota. And only because he lives there.

I'd also like to say that my luggage is not pink. And that does not make me happy. Not one bit. That is all.

Welcome to every trip I ever take.

Are you going to blog while you're traveling?

If it makes you feel any better, my luggage is also not pink.

Hey, you going to come and say hi to me?

When I travel, I pack light. If I forgot something, I buy it when I get there. Everyone is usually a stranger, and don't know or care what you're missing... relax!

I have to make lists before packing. #1 because I'm obsessive like that. #2 I'd forget my head if it wasn't attached b/c I'm a last minute packer!!

Good Luck!

I can't pack in advance. Can't. Last possible minute. That's me.

So, it sounds like you used your time well.

I love that..."And then I sat down and surfed the internet all night." That's exactly what I do and then I end up throwing waaay too much stuff in a suitcase at the last minute because I don't have time to decide what I actually want.

I would send you pink luggage, but you still wouldn't pack any sooner.

I know the feeling of being worked up and not in a good way, do I. You're coming to NY! To NYC? Would love to get together if that is the case. Let me know.

You're coming to my side of the country?! How long will you be in NY?!

I have black luggage but I make up for it by attaching a large bundle of pink polka-dotted ribbons to the handle. It makes me smile when I see the bag tumble down the baggage carrier :)

I've always wanted pink luggage too...oooo!

OR PURPLE!!!

Well, pink luggage would be more soothing. That would have calmed you. Blaze orange might have been a mistake...

My luggage is boring black!

Enjoy NYC though! What a great city!

Have fun in New York - how long are you going to be gone for?

I think you should get some pink luggage....even if it's just a new carryon or purse. :) Why not?

This is no way to get excited for your trip to New York. NEW YORK for Pete's sake. You must prioritize. The essentials can be purchased in NYC if need be. All you need is your purse, your driver's license. And maybe your bank card and you're good to go! (See, isn't that better? All stress relieved, right?!?)

Just for the record.... I am not going to the city this time. I'm going to a tiny little town near Woodstock and I'm going to gawk at all the old hippes that still live there and smoke pot openly.

That, and to have a massage, go to a yoga workshop and a concert with Jane Siberry, Emmylou Harris and Shawn Colvin.

Then, I'm coming home.

To blog.

My luggage is purple. I felt your pain until I bought it... overstock.com is your friend for cheap luggage.

And BREATHE, darling, you'll be fine! It will be wonderful! Just pack lots of your lovely socks ;-)

It'll work out - it always does right? My luggage is boring black and I would love to have a wild print. But to make myself feel better I tie ribbons to it. They're purple.
