Invisilady

Last Sunday I gave in. I took my car to the all-inclusive car wash. I am lazy, what can I say? Really, it just had gone a little too far. The sand, the dirt, the haze on the inside of the windows? Blech. And I didn't want to deal. So there. But people? I SWEAR they sprinkled it with magic fairy dust and it's now invisible. Because twice this morning, I almost got creamed. TWICE. In my four block drive to work. (I know, I know. Go Green! Or anysuchcrap. But I have a hair appointment after work and it's on the way. On. The. Way. Don't be all judgy.)

First, some dude just started coming right at me. On my side of the street. I actually pulled over and stopped because frankly? I didn't know what else to do. Pull over and drive on HIS side? I don't know. And at the last minute, he swerved and dude! Didn't even make eye contact! YOU ALMOST KILLED ME, WOULD IT KILL YOU TO ACKNOWLEDGE IT?! Um. No.

THEN, one block later? Some chick blew through a stop sign and I screached to a halt. She put her hand up, giggled and waved. Okay. So, I wanted acknowledgement from the first guy, but this? Not acceptable chicka. What IS the right response to almost crushing someone? I mean, really?

Do I LOOK invisible to you? No. I am not.

In other hate news, have you ever noticed that the honky, honky impatient people are always on their phone?

I used to have an invisible car. Seriously, I was almost mowed over on LOTS of occasions. It was awful and scary. I never did like that car.

Totally unrelated note ... did you know your state is one of the few holdouts on requiring booster seats for kids up to 8 years old? What's up with that?!

What's up with all the bad driving lately? Maybe you need one of those police cherry-thingies.

I drive paranoid- everyone is out to get me!

And I am the invisible pedestrian. I'm very timid about stepping out to cross the street. In my neighbourhood cars don't look before they turn.

She's all, tee hee hee I almost killed us both. WTH?

Dude, you need a hemi. Everyone gets the hell out of my way when I rev the engine. When they clear like mice, it just feels like the universe is as it should be. If I win the lottery, I'm buying you a hemi, because I'm concerned for your safety.

My car is totally invisible too.

I don't have a car (extra invisible). But what scares me is I think they make this same invisibility dust for pedestrians.
