Did you know I have fine hair, ala blonde baby? Did you also know that I had a beautiful waist length shock of white-blonde hair until a week before I started kindergarten when my mom took me in and got me a chin length bob so she didn't have to "do" hair for both my sister and I on school mornings? (There may or may not be some lingering resentment there. Don't judge me.) So, most of my adult life, I've worn my hair long. And beside that awful period in the 80s where I thought perms made me look wonderful (ala poodle), I've had pretty nice hair.
Until I broke my leg. Somehow, the combination of anesthesia medications they gave me coupled with the fact that I was under for WAY longer than anyone anticipated while they tried to find a rod long enough to pound into my bone, made my hair fall out. Yep. Globs of hair on a daily basis. So I cut it all off at the quick. And it grew back. More fine than ever before. But I was desperate for long hair, so I've been growing it back ever since.
Until now. Because I'm ready. It's actually TOO long. I can't wear it up in a clip like I normally do and unless I completely straighten it, it's a mess of sort of curly and ijustwalkedoutofthehousewithoutcaringness. I've got an awesome hairdresser who understands my hair because it's just like hers. And I'm going in. On November 23rd. I don't know how I'm going to look coming out. But here's some ideas. Weigh in please. Pixie and piece-y.

I've had all four hairstyles. For three years, I went through a phase of awesome short hairstyles. Tip: All four are pretty easy to style. Invest in hair wax for the ends of your hair.
The pixie cut was really cute, but after a week-- I missed my hair.
#2 and #4 are very similar. It was my favorite style. Easy to fix and tons of compliments everywhere I went.
I think you'd look hot with number 4.
I like pixie and piece-y.
Also, I BROKE MY LEG TOO! My femur. Have we already talked about this?
I like all the options you gave. I think you should bring in those photos and place that trust in your hair stylist. If she's good and knows your hair, she'll be able to help you figure out which cut will work best with your hair, the shape of your face, etc! Yay, can't wait to see the results!
Wow. You had/have a steel rod in your leg? So do I, believe it or not.
The second is definitely a cool do. I'd go for the second or the fourth one, but I don't know how it will look on you! So fingers crossed, and let us know how it works out!
It's just hair, people! Do what will make you feel the most fun.
It's weird how hair changes as you age or go through hormonal changes or whatever... My hair is very different than it was when I was younger, and yes, sadly, thinner.
The cool thing about short hair is it's fun and it grows out fast enough anyway.
Have a great haircut and I hope you post pics!
Ha! I've used two of those photos when I go in to have my hair done...the first and third! We have similar hair, Miss Kate. That's for sure.
I think the longer/piecey one would look great. I'm always a huge fan of pixie cuts myself but I think taking it gradual might be the way to go! HOW FUN!!
PLEASE do not let me cut my hair "short" while I'm PG. I did it last time and it accentuated my total face FATNESS at the end. I vow not to do that again!
I'd go with #1.
#2 has some sort of strange tattoo across her neck.
Yes, strange.
#2 gets my vote.
I say #1. Definitely #1.
Or maybe #4.
I'd skip the first one but I think you could carry off any of the others. And, I, too, had a poodle perm at one unfortunate time in my life. Oy.
i wanted a mixture between one and two. i got one and it grew out to look like two. now it's longer and it looks like a mullet. i'd go for it!!! you will look good in any of those. i like the last color...

I like the 2nd one. It would frame your face nicely. The 4th is similar but I find the bangs are too heavy.
I can't wait to see how it turns out!
I wish I could see more pictures of you to really get a sense about this, but I think with what little info I have, I favor the last haircut.
I like the little bit longer one. I think in most cases chin length can be very flattering. At least I've always liked my hair when it's chin length.
I'm a long hair person, I think I've only had short hair (bob length) twice in my life, not to say I don't like short hair. I think short hair looks incredibly cool, just not on me. I'd go for the not so short versions (the last two options), just in case. Good luck!
YOU CRACK ME UP.
i go for the meg look. I agree with the pixie getting old real quick. growing mine out again.
I love the way you write. you are very funny - and I am a hard sell on funny.
