Life Outside

So, when I'm not doing well, I go to Cowgirl's house. The bright, bright sunshine always helps. It's much better than my dungeon basement apartment. She cleaned like a madwoman and I sat in the sun-filled family room and wrote and wrote and wrote in front of the fire. All day long. It was lovely. Then we made grilled chicken, pasta carbonara, salad and bread and invited some other ingrates over, stuffed our faces and did a photo shoot. Because I was INDEED, wearing my movie star fur coat, leggings and cowboy boots with my circus glasses and Princess Lea hair. It's EXACTLY what I wanted on my body and it made me happy. So there. And at Cowgirl's house, you can wear whatever the hell you want. Or nothing at all. Bathrobes, swimsuits, various states of undress and muck boots are always welcome.

Only I didn't know that I'd be going somewhere else, but no matter. My friends love me anyway. And are willing to be seen in public with me. That's kind of a prerequisite to be my friend. UFC Fight Night. What? "Oh Kate, you've got to go!" Apparently, there's a big market for people who want to watch other people beat each other up. That's some serious man on man action with blood and flying teeth. It was actually kind of cool? Like hockey. Only no ice and less clothes. It was utterly fascinating. And by the time I left I felt like a million bucks. I stayed out until 11 p.m. Unheard of in Kateland. Who knew that's what it would take to lift my spirits? Violence and blood. Nice...

Sunday morning, I did all the things I've been neglecting to do in my current state-o-funk. Laundry, vaccuuming, grocery store and then Pumpkin Bread! And may I mention that my internet was not working from Saturday morning until about noon on Sunday? TWITCHY.

Look at you with your pooch accessory! Regular Paris Hilton you are, except with brains.

I hope the pumpkin bread turned out well. The husband is making our version of it as we speak (raisins instead of chocolate chips).

Is there some sign up list to hang out with you and the other ingrates at Cowgirl's house? Because I could totally use an evening of carbonara and my most comfortable, wackiest outfit.

:) I'm glad it did you good.

I love the outfit! You should be proud to go out in public in it. It makes me want a pair of cowboy boots BAD.
