500

This is my 500th post in the venture I call vomiting on the internet. So I asked for reader questions and here they are with my answers. Thanks for joining me on this journey!

What food is your secret pleasure? The one you eat when no one is looking.
Cheese, glorious cheese! Any kind on any kind of vehicle. Sigh. I should open up a specialty cheese market so I could go around the world tasting cheese. I would be the expert in cheese! People would come to me for the cheese!

What's the sexiest thing a man can say/do?
You know that spot right at the nape of your neck, under your hair? When someone kisses me there, it takes my breath away and you could pretty much ask me to rob a bank after that and I'd do it.

Who is Gay Boyfriend, and how did he earn that hilarious nick name?
I live with a gay man. And we bicker like an old married couple, so we started calling him my Gay Boyfriend. It fits.

If you could have dinner and then super sexy sex with any celebrity, who would it be?
Russell Crowe. Sorry. Gladiator kind of did me in for that question a long time ago. But on a whole other scale, there's Jeremy Irons. And if I was a lesbian, Angelina Jolie. She's a dirtygirl. Have you READ about her and Billy Bob Thornton? Sexxaay!

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be, and why?
I wish that I didn't immediately start crying when I get angry, because I can't ever fight back. I just look like a miserable little girl when really in my head, I have LOTS of things to say to you, motherfucker.

What makes you happy? I mean truly happy and at peace?
Holding my nephew. Awake or asleep. My heart exploded when I met him and I don't think that kind of love will ever be shoved back in that dark hole ever again. It's glorious to let it out.

If you had a time machine, but you could only use it once (round trip, of course) would you go into the past, or the future? What would you hope to see or do there?
I don't think I'd go. I mean - my past makes me who I am today. Sure - there were times when I wished for ANYTHING but my past, but today I like who I am and it's only because I WAS who I WAS that I get to be who I am today. And the future? No. I don't need to know what's up there. Weird. That answer would have been so different two years ago when I started this blog.

What is one regret you have?
Doing things that made my dad cry in hopelessness. I would do alot to make that picture of my dad sitting on my hospital bed, sobbing with his head in his hands go away. But the whole time machine thing. No. Sigh.

What are you most proud of?
Getting sober. And staying that way. Nothing much else compares.

What brings a smile to your heart?
Watching the men in my life act like 10 year old boys on the 4th of July. Oh, and when Munchkin Number Two crawls in my lap at a campfire and snuggles in.

What makes you happiest?
See above question about my nephew.

Where do you see yourself in 10 years.........30 years?
Now, I've got some serious things to say about this question. When I was in stupid youth director school we did this project where we had to write an essay about where we wanted to be in 5 years. Of course I said I wanted to be married with three kids, stay at home mom, volunteering in my community, blah blah blah. The more I think about it, the more I think that assignment was asinine. Here, we were supposed to be "learning" how to give our lives over to Jesus and they tell us that if we have the plan and we PRAY to JESUS about the plan, he'd give us our little heart's desires. Well, frankly? That's a bunch of bullshit. The God I know today does whatever the hell He pleases. And it's always in my best interest whether I agree with it or not, so making PLANS for the future now seems absurd.

Now, that doesn't mean I don't have things I'd like to do. But I hold them loosely. Because in this new life that I have, I've discovered that things held more loosely are more easily attained or let go - depending on the need for either. I want to go back to graduate school. I want to get my PhD, but I'll start with finishing that stupid Master's Degree first and see what happens from there. I want to travel. Most of the time, I still want to find a man that I love with my soul, but I'm content to wait for the right one. And if I get a kid out of the deal, that would be awesome, but I'm slowly letting that one go, too. I hold my dreams by a thread anymore. Because that's how I have to live in order to stay here. Today. With you. But that doesn't mean that the dream of living off the grid in Northern Minnesota doesn't still hold it's appeal on the bad days.

I once dated a man who didn't like cheese and never kissed the nape of my neck. Sad.

Congrats on 500. You make life sunnier.

I had a friend in college who told me, "Cheese is my Dark Lord."

I like your questions, and I enjoyed reading your answers! BTW if you were watching Gladiator how could you see Crowe and not Djimon Hounsou! (He kind of stole the show in his teeny tiny thong the whole time). Let's just agree Joaquin Phoenix was decidedly UN-hot.

Not to be pedantic, but if you owned a cheese market, people would come in and ask you to cut the cheese.

Just sayin'..........

Hi - I'm new to your blog via Jeff over at My Life, Lived My Way.

On Cheese, I LOVE Cheese. I love cheese so much I went to Cheese Making School. Yes I did. I now make my own cheese. I still buy cheese so I would come to your shop, just saying... or maybe you could sell my cheese in your shop?

Anyway, I'm a new follower. Happy Day.

I'm totally on board with your last answer. "No plans" has been the best plan for me for ten years now. And it's still going strong. That's why I'm sleeping well most nights even with the threat of my workplace going out of business hanging over my head. If the threat became a certainty I'm sure I'd have some anxiety, but right now my faith is holding strong and getting me through.

To be a part of my family you have to love cheese with every meal and love it enough to eat it daily.

My son....will only eat shredded cheese.....it's a start.

You know what I love about your 500th post? It shows that you've spent 500 posts getting to know yourself... and dammit, you're pretty darn knowledgeable at this point in time!

For all the cool stuff you said, I have to tell you-- I set about learning everything about cheese! I love 90+ % of it, and I eat the other 10% so it doesn't feel left out! I don't answer these types of questions, because I answer truly, and even I don't like my answers..

Cheese! I love cheese. But I don't like soft cheeses. I know. I'm a wuss.

Cave aged gruyere = heaven.

Also, I just won a cheese cutting board. I KNOW!

I am so totally with you on the cheese! I worked at a wine and cheese shop for ten years, so I know and love them all.

I wish I DID immediately start crying when I'm angry, instead of blowing up. I wish I seemed sad instead of angry when I'm sad.

What you say about faith and making plans in those last two paragraphs is so true, and so well put.

When you decide it's time to travel, give me a call. Can we go to Thailand first? Or Scotland?

I really enjoyed this post. All your answers were so intimately honest. Most of the time these kinds of questions get the "I can't say" or "Wouldn't you like to know" answers that always make me ask "Why did you bother doing this in the first place?"

glad I found your site!

Russel Crowe? Really? He does nothing for me. And Angelina is scary. This is good news because you and I could go out whoring around together and not fight over the celebrities who would undoubtedly want to have sex with us.
