Happy Feet Friday

You wish you had homemade felted wool slippers, too. I know you do. I have discovered the joy that is Pandora. It's so much fun to watch new music come up! Things I've never heard before. It makes me happy.
And you know what else makes me happy? The conversation I had with my sister in law, right before we all left last Saturday. We were sitting in the library while she nursed Baby Z. And she said, "Kate. You seem happy. It's been a long time since I've seen you like this." And I turned to her and said, "I am. I'm content." And then we both started crying. See how she did that? Ha! And what ELSE makes me happy is that my mother sent me an email on Monday (because we don't talk about feelings, but apparently we can email them now.) that said, "I don't know what you're doing, but it's nice to have our daughter back." Then I cried again. THREE years I've been sober now and it's finally working. Well, it worked before, but I'm finally mostly okay. And that's something to celebrate.

No words here. Just a knowing smile.
That's fantastic. And I agree. You were glowing on Friday night. Whatever you're doing is working!
You've actually brought tears to my eyes with this post. Congratulations and blessings!
I love Pandora too. And your slippers.
Kate, this is so great to hear. Definitely something to celebrate and be thankful for!!
And I do totally want your slippers.
Indeed something to celebrate. Congratulations!! I really am very happy for you!
That's what I meant. Good for you!
What great things to hear from your family, full of love and validation!
I have to tell you that I totally stolen your "Happy Feet Friday" feature (I DID give you credit the first time I posted it). I'm laughing because your photo today is almost exactly like mine from last week! Check this out: http://mamieutah.blogspot.com/2009/11/happy-feet-friday-112709.html
Love the Happy Feet, enjoy reading about your journeys. Keep on keepin' on...
Hi Kate,
Here's what makes me happy about knowing you...your complete willingness to be honest about yourself. That I find refreshing, challenging and inspiring. Although I'm not a felted wool slippers-kind of guy, I will enjoy Happy Feet Friday.
U
That's fantastic! And your picture reminded me of a friend's Dad who, when confronted with something wonderful, would exclaim, "Warm socks in the morning!"
Wishing you warm socks in the morning all the days of your life!
I'm jealous of your feet and happy about your state of mind. :)
Tears of happiness are better than gold.
I share all of the aforementioned joy and happiness for your happiness. That road ain't easy, and I know how hard each step can be. I am so impressed that you keep taking them... but even more than that, I am just happy for you.
My sister said the same thing to me, "I got my brother back".
love this and your slippers
You are awesome!
And so are your slippers! :)
Amazing - three years, well done you. It seems that you are getting the right feedback from those that matter too... :0)
Good for you, girl! And, yes, I do want a pair of homemade felted wool slippers.
Those damn one-liners that induce tears... sometimes they feel good, huh?
Felt Slippers. Happiness. Pandora. Score!!
