I WIN!

Bingo-bells, Bingo-bells, Bingo all the way! Oh what fun it is to watch and see who cheats and plays! It's New Year's Eve! And that means B-I-N-G-O! I look forward to this all year long. No joke. And to think, the first time I went I HATED IT! But that might have been because I was going through withdrawl and having DTs. Ha! I always yell, "I WIN!" Instead of "Bingo!" Because well - just because I do. I find that humorous.

So, we eat first. We ALWAYS eat first. I'm looking for appetizer recipes. Anyone? Something cheesy and fattening? Or fresh and lean? Help me.

And then at Midnight, I will kiss whoever is right next to me and then drive home, always aware that I am most likely the only sober person on the road. And when I get there, I will think about this year and all that has happened.

First of all, there is the BABY! I am an auntie. And I didn't know your heart could love a being so very much. That was an incredible surprise. Well. I knew the baby was coming. Duh. But the surprise of the love that I am capable of. That rendered me speechless.

Second of all, I am enjoying my life. Sure, there's hiccups. There's ALWAYS going to be hiccups. Even the kind that hurt and keep you awake at night, making your tummy hurt. But that's just how life is.

And thirdly, I'm happy on the inside. Which is all kinds of amazing. So there. Happy New Year!

Cheesy and fattening and delish:

Hot Crab Dip

½ pt sour cream / 1 cup
2 – 8 oz pkgs cream cheese
½ tsp dry mustard
3 tsp Worcestershire sauce
3 big shakes garlic power
Juice from ½ lemon
½ tsp ole bay
4 tblsp mayonnaise
3 tblsp milk
1 lb crab meat
Cheddar cheese (grated) about a cup

Mix all ingredients except crab with an electric beater until smooth
Add crab meat
Place in shallow baking dish
Top with grated cheese
Bake at 300 for 45-60 minutes
Serve with crackers

or simpler and a wee bit healthier:

(from Rachel Ray)

1 endive
1 can mandarine oranges
Chevre/goat cheese
slivered almonds

Carefully separate the leaves from the endive. Use each leaf like a boat. Put some chevre, mandarin orange, and slivered almond in each leaf. (Don't worry about proportions--you can't get it wrong. Just do it the way you like it.) Arrange attractively on a plate. Viola!

Either way, enjoy!

Have a wonderful time at Bingo and I hope 2010 is a fantastic year for you!

Toss one package of little smokies in about 2 tablespoons of sugar.

Wrap about half in a half slice of bacon and bake until the bacon is crisp.

Wrap the other half in a half crescent roll and bake till golden brown. (Sort of slice the crescent down the middle trying to keep the crescent shape)

Dip....

1 cup of cream cheese
1/2 stick of butter
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1 tablespoon of thousand island dressing
....Beat all the ingredients together until well mixed.....Then stir in

1 cup of crab meat

Serve on Wheat Thins
