Springing Violence

It's raining again today. Which means the snow is melt, melt, melting. I even saw some grass on someone's lawn as I was walking to work today. Every night, I have been going out and measuring the snow that is covering my garden. I still have a good 25 inches to go. The rule around here is that you don't plant until Mother's day. That's still two months away. We could still have a major cold snap or heavy snowfall. But I know it won't last. So I trudge on.

I've kind of had the angries for a few days and my new favorite phrase is, "Do you WANT me to stick a fork in your face?" It works on Gay Boyfriend. He slowly backs away. Cowgirl laughs and says, "I'll scoop your eyeballs out with a plastic spoon." God, I love my friends.

*Oh, and for those of you who follow and encourage my fascination with death, disease and destruction, here's my newest research on Scurvy. It's a badass affliction.

I'm counting the days until we can sod. The crappy freezes we got this year slaughtered all our landscaping!

Not to rub it in your face or anything, but it is 70 degrees today and SUNNY.

I will be turning some dirt when I get home today. Probably not a lot, but some.

ARgh. I am sooooo over the snow. We have drifts that are up to my waist and mud everywhere else.

Over. It.

I grew up in Scandinavia so I remember the waiting for spring and the snow to disappear....

Here in Australia it's the opposite but it happens at the same time of the year. I end up wanting the heat and humidity to go away so I can enjoy autumn's cooler nights and fresh warm days.

Some people are never happy huh?

I'm so sorry you still have 25 inches of snow on the ground.

When I am experiencing the angries I say, "Don't make me open this can of Whoop-Ass on you".. My family knows that is serious bad ju-ju...

I am resisting the urge to clean out the flower beds as I know this spat of good spring weather is NOT going to last. There is one more snow storm in my future.. my bones tell me that everyday.
