The Best Weekend Ever (at least this Spring)

I got to see the baby! Whee! He is going to crawl ANY SECOND! And he goes to Baby Yoga with mommy, so if he's on his tummy and you plop down and do Cobra pose and start hissing? He will TOTALLY start giggling and get up on his chubby little arms and do it with you! He is amazing, no? He loves, loves, loves to "walk" with daddy, he is just starting to eat squash, but won't eat it if mommy is around because the boob cafe is better, you know? Look at him! Happy, happy baby. He scoots backwards, but not forward yet. And he scooted himself right into the grass and started examining it and picking it. I love this picture.
Can you tell I had a good time? He likes to play, but really only likes to be snuggled by mommy and daddy. But I got to hold him and smell his sweet head. My brother had been traveling last week and had just gotten back on Friday, so he was constantly scanning the room to make sure he was there. It was so sweet. And he likes to be carried by grandpa. Because he's SO high up! I love him. Like with my whole heart.

Once I was on the road home though, I was eager to get there. My gym closes at seven on the weekends. I had walked with my mom and dad on Friday night and then after a family hike on Saturday, I rocked out around town with my iPod. So, I was excited to get back to the gym and see if I'd lost any ground last week while I was sick. And I don't know if it was trying on clothes that didn't fit at the Eddie Bauer outlet, but I pushed myself. And I ran for four whole minutes in a row. TWO TIMES! And then I ran three whole minutes in a row two MORE times. My 5K time was under 46 minutes. (I don't QUITE know, because I accidentally pushed the stop button after a mile when I was coughing.) But how cool is THAT? My legs are a little achey today, but it feels good. I'm doing this thing!

You are rocking the gym! That's a cute baby too. It's such a good age. They're so smiley and quiet and not quite mobile.

Is he a nephew? Because you are gushing like he is a nephew. Being an auntie is the best ever.

He is so cute! I could just eat those cheeks.

Great work at the gym! I am very proud of you.

I heard the definition of a baby once, which cracked me up! "A pleasant idiot".. Fun to watch them grow and learn!

He is beautiful! I love that age, not completely mobile, but not newbornish.. funny, laughing.. everything is new to them. You are so lucky to have that little fellow in your life.

Congrat's on the running too! Don't forget to stretch before and after and you won't be feeling sore the next day for long.

I used to scoot as a baby. In fact, I never crawled. I went straight from scooting to walking.

One of my favorite moments ever was watching a friend's child discover grass. That infant played with it forever and didn't want to stop!

Your walking-running strides are impressive! Keep it up!!!
