A Weekend in Pictures

We went to the quarry on Saturday. I had clients for my part time job until 11:30 a.m. and by the time I got on the interstate, I was delirious with anticipation. I had to tell myself to calm down at least 10 times before I realized it would take me an hour to get there. Sigh. It seemed like forever. The anticipation of sun and water was too much for me. I don't speed. I never have. But I wanted to. Oh, how I wanted to. Good thing the speed limit here in SD is 75 mph.
Look how beautiful it was! 35 mph wind gusts notwithstanding.
Munchkin Number 2 having a snack on the dock which has yet to be sailed for the year. Along with Charlie. Ever vigilant when there's food.
Munchkin Number 1 making a sand castle.
Cowgirl with Munchkins Number One and Two, and Three...
This is how we roll. Chairs, towels, smut magazines, cigarettes, flip flops and books.
Trying to catch fish. Hanging on to mom because Kate is a total wimp.
We try to love one another...
Being a mermaid. Because mermaids put their faces in the water.
A retriever is just that. A retriever. He had the time of his life.
Burrito girl takes a nap.
And then savors a s'more on the overturned swing.
And on Monday, I grilled. Asparagus, zucchini and onions with olive oil, balsamic vinegar, sea salt and black pepper. Oh, and some minced garlic, too.
All done!
After a sun filled, grilled and gardening day.

This post is making me miss this past weekend already. And I want to eat some grilled deliciousness.
And Cowgirl is a very cute mama! She wears her pregnancy well.
It thundered and rained all Memorial Day here- most rain I think our back yard ever held!
That looks PERFECT - the sun, the kids, the hanging out with trashy magazines and good company, the grilled veggies and s'mores! I want to be there!
There is nothing like sand, sun and water, nothing! I'm happy you had such a great time this weekend :)

The weather in SD looks just as perfect as it was in Chicago. So lucky to have an extra day to enjoy it!
