Book, Stove, Giveaway, Books

So, I got a surprise in the mail the other day. It was a book. From a new author. And I got to have one before they are even available because I agreed to feature her on my blog when the book comes out. But getting a book that no one else can get? I felt so - IMPORTANT! Sneaky! Risque, even! I am such a book whore anyway, that this just added to my level of special when it comes to books.

And I immediately took it out to the swing and started reading and I had a hard time putting it down when Gay Boyfriend showed up with my new stove. So, go check it out. I can't wait to read more of it!

Did you catch that Gay Boyfriend replaced my stove? Finally? It broke on EASTER, people. EASTER. When I was in the middle of cooking my turkey. And I could be all bitter about it. (Oh wait, I AM.) But he finally replaced it. With another stove off someone's lawn. (Did you know the one that broke came off someone's lawn? Yes. It did.) But this one was at least advertised on Craig's List as "In good shape." And "Only getting rid of it because we're remodeling." And well, it's not pretty. But it works. All four burners and the oven. And now, I'm just beside myself and I don't know what to cook. I've been planning on some vegetable lasagna for quite awhile - the kind where you use zucchini for the noodles, and I've been craving pumpkin bread, and wanting to experiment with pizza, so I'm sure there will be a cooking post up this weekend.

But in the meantime, I have a treat for you. My very first giveaway. And it's so special, it's used books. Yes. Books. If ever there was a way to get into my brain and how I think, it would be to peruse my bookshelves. This is a very eclectic selection. But that's how I would describe my brain. Eclectic. If you want them, leave me a comment. And I'll do a random generated number thingy to decide on the winners. I'll leave the giveaway open until Saturday, June 5th at 10 p.m. Because that's my bedtime.

Congrats on your new stove!

I will leave the book giveaway to others, as I already have way too many books in my house.

Finally, a new stove! I would lose my mind without a stove. Gah.

That book, Stay, looks AWESOME. And like I might cry a lot reading it. Oh, man. DOGS.

THIS. I love this.

How do you feel about setting up maybe a blogger's book exchange? I've got a bunch of good books that need someone (other than me) to appreciate them. My IRL friends couldn't care less.

Awesome idea, Kate!

I'm having such horrible anxiety today that I'm actually afraid to comment because I don't want you to take what I say the wrong way and think I'm a jackass, so I will just say that books are an excellent idea for a giveaway.

That is all.

Where's my xanax?

I want your new book - I love books with dogs in them (not literally, that would be gross). Or you could send me one of the other books - just not The Mermaid Chair, as I've read that one already (loved, it, love SMK).

Glad you have a working stove, and let us know how the veggie lasagna turned out...I've been thinking about making it (that's as far as I've gotten - still hungry!).

yeah stoves that work!!

Oh no, a book about a love affair with a German Shepherd... you KNOW how I feel about German Shepherds... now I have to find that book. Now. For my Kindle. and I have to read it without distractions. Don't add me to your giveaway. Books have taken over my life, that's why I've gone electronic - unless of course I can't find Stay for Kindle...

I'm addicted to books lately! Didn't read for almost 2 years after Jack was born (too tired, no time), now that I started again I just can't stop. Please enter me in your drawing!
