Happy Feet Friday

No food, no garden, just feet today. I had drinks with Captain Crab last night. He was in town. And it was lovely. He makes me laugh. And I've decided that my favorite pink drink is cranberry juice and 7-up. It's all fizzy and not at all sour like it was when I put vodka in it. So, if you ever come to see me, that's what I want. Cranberry juice and 7-up. Drink of pink princesses.

We got 4 inches of rain in like 4 hours on Wednesday night. Some places got 7 inches. That's like wickedly wet. And the lightening! It was one right after the other after the other. I could have read with my lights out, it was that bright and constant. We are to get more storms tonight with straight line winds and hail. Anyone who doesn't believe in global warming has got to at least believe that the weather patterns are becoming more severe. But if you don't believe in global warming, you're an idiot anyway.

Running Club tomorrow morning. We're up to run 5 minutes/walk 2.5 minutes. And well? I can't really make it past 4 minutes yet. And I mostly want to cry. But I'm sticking it out. And then after that, I'll take a shower and a nap and then visit Cute Farmer and see if I can make words come out of my mouth that don't make me sound like a stalker/lunatic/weirdo freak. Wish me luck.

I kind of love lightening storms ... when I'm safely inside and can curl up under a blanket. Hope your garden didn't drown! And go Kate for this running thing. Don't be too down on yourself. Running is supposed to be about doing things at your own pace. Just imagine, a few months ago, you couldn't have run for one minute, let alone four. You've come a long way, friend!

Keep up the running! In a few weeks you will look back on the 5 minutes of running and think that it is easy! :-)

Our neighbor had raging rapids in their back yard. I have no idea how our yard missed the river, but it did. Lots of rain out here too.

This is the LINE of the day. You made me laugh - something I have not been doing lately. So, thank you. Yes, I agree, If you don't believe in global warming, you're an idiot anyway.

I want complete details of farmer guy conversation. Do you think you could like hide a video camera in your bag and share the whole thing with us? Never mind, I guess that would be weird. Would it? Yes. But details!!

I am going to be doing my Brave Kate dance all morning, so good luck.

I am so proud of you and your running club. I still can't run a quarter mile, so your FOUR miles kicks ASS.

We had weird storms here last night too. I definitely think the weather is getting weird.

Give yourself a break about running - everyone struggles during the summer. The heat is killer.

We've been getting rain too. It's wonderful.

I am so rooting for you and Cute Farmer!

It is true that if you keep up the running, it will feel better and better, and then you'll look back and the beginning stuff will seem easy.

I am certain Cute Farmer knows who you are and thinks you're cute. Absolutely.

I'm not much of a runner but even while I was working up to my 5K I tried to keep a grateful heart for my hardworking body, for fresh air, for moving. I hope you can do the same no matter what the "stats" on minutes running/walking say! Good job.

You're doing it Kate, you're running! That's what's important.
And the farmer? I just read this today and I'm dying to know how it went!
