Back to Work

Well. I'm finally back to work. I always take Monday off after a week's vacation. I mean seriously, who wants to go back to work on a Monday after you've been off? That, and you get a short week to ease back into things.

I spent yesterday out at Cowgirl's. The two oldest are back in school, so I played in the pool with Munchkin Number 2 and got to hold and feed Munchkin Number 3. That, and we laid out topless. Seriously. It was SO naughty and liberating! Although I'm a little burned on my girlie bits up top. But it was WORTH IT! I'm totally joining a nudist colony or something. Either that, or spending much more time topless out at the farm.

But internet, I can hear fall. I can hear it in the leaves. The way the wind runs through them and they rustle instead of sing. Munchkin Number 2 wanted to go check on the apple trees out in the orchard, so we walked out there, hand in hand. I told her it was too early, that apples are for fall. And well? There were hoards of them on the ground. Already ripened and fallen. A "teensy bit sour" she said, but ripe nonetheless.

Mini Mama told me of her plan to take us away mid February to her sister's in Arizona. She knows how hard winter was for me last year. It almost took a crowbar to get me out of my apartment most nights, I was so depressed. So, she's got a plan for sunshine and a bit of warmth. But it's not helping my dread. That, and I think I have a bit of post-vacation sadness. Baby Z is the most perfect baby ever. And I love him so much I can't stand it. I bawled for an hour when I left. Sobbing all the way down the road, ending with a few hiccupping breaths. I miss him. He is my heart. Lucky me, I have Munchkin Number 3 to hold as I grieve.

Yes, you must leave in February. You must. I'm planning a trip to LA in February. There's nothing like actually feeling yourself defrost. And here's the other thing -- hot tubs. I'm pretty sure this is going to save me. Save-ish me.

Glad you're back. Missed you. I think I'm ready for fall. Everyone's looking at me crazy for saying that, but I am.

You make it to Arizona this winter, you BETTER share lots and lots of photos. Warm sunny photos of no snow covered ground.

I would like to try to get somewhere this winter that will be warm....Arizona sounds like just what you need!

I always get post-vacation sadness simply because it means going back to work!

Yes, fall is in the air. The other day I saw a crabapple tree loaded down with brilliantly red crabapples. I love fall. I'm looking forward to it.

You are such a loving person. Your friends are very lucky.

I love having a sunny vacation to look forward to. Especially, in the midst of depressing winter. Go get that light!

Post vacation blues are hard. But hold on to the laughter. Always hold onto the laughter.

I don't think I could sunbathe topless even if I knew NO ONE was around. How sad is that?

Sounds like a lovely last few days...

Yay on a February break. Smart, too.
