Ghost Runner

Internet? I ran yesterday. Truly and wholeheartedly RAN! We didn't do the 13 minute run, we did 14 minutes! She surprised us! We ran 14 minutes, walked 1 minute, ran another 14 minutes and walked 1 more minute, then ran 10 minutes to finish. That means I ran 38 minutes! With just 2 minutes of walking inbetween! How awesome is that?! I really am a runner!

And the best part is that at some point, I realized that I didn't hate it. I'm very slow, but I don't really care about that. The skinny ponytail girls up front can go as fast as they want. Because if I go slow, I can do it. And I did! So there. I am a runner. And in 17 days, I get a t-shirt and a number. A NUMBER, INTERNET! Pinned to my shirt to prove it!

You have no idea how happy this makes me.

About as happy as my garden.

And at one point, as I was rocking out to Until the End by Breaking Benjamin, I thought, "If only he could see me now. Really DOING something." And then I realized that he could indeed, see me. And that he was watching and cheering me on. And how happy is that?

That's fantastic! I love the tired but euphoric feeling after a run. After you realize that yes, you did kick ass today. :-)

Oh that's great! Congratulations! A number!!

Also, you don't want a dog. They make poop, which you have to pick up. Blech.

This makes me smile big. I haven't been running at all myself, but you're inspiring me to get back into it.

You have no idea how happy this makes ME ... I'm living vicariously through you during my running hiatus. And I'm absolutely loving your discovery of running and that you might even enjoy it. What a fun ride this has been for all of us! =)

TBHITW's favorite chant to runners was, On, On...

We always yelled it to him when he ran by in a race - or to each other....

So to you Kate, I say, On, On.
