Happy Feet Friday

The Crazy set in about 8 p.m. last night, so I put my shoes on, intent on a walk. The air was so crisp, the moon was shining, and I walked. And walked. And then, well, I couldn't help it. I broke into a jog. It was a mistake. But a block later, I tried again. Why do I DO that?! WHY?! Sigh. So, I limped home and iced it for about an hour and strangely, it doesn't even hurt this morning, like it has past mornings. What?!
Here's how I ripen my tomatoes off the vine. In a shoe box.
And the fruit bowl looks mighty yummy, wouldn't you say?! I've got one more butternut squash on the vine and I will take care of the parsnips and lima beans this weekend. Then the garden is truly done.
And I'm slowly sorting through the cherry tomatoes. The green ones, I will turn into relish. The red ones, I will EAT. Winter is here. Socks are no longer optional and the garden has gone to sleep.

All that produce is beautiful! I wish I had some green tomatoes left. I love fried green tomatoes. You can also ripen them in a paper bag you know.

Don't jog!! I know that you want to, but you don't want to be out even longer because you have re-injured your Achilles!

Can you send some of those cherry tomatoes to CT? Kthanxbai.

I'm not a runner per se, not in any sense of the word. But sometimes I break into a spontaneous burst of speed, just because it feels good. So I totally get your unplanned jogging. It's hard to squash that energy, and who really wants to?

I can't run either. My knees just won't let me, unless I am willing to go under the knife. So far I am willing to content myself with walking, biking, etc. (And now the 30 day shred challenge.)

Your fruit bowl and tomatoes are a picture of loveliness. I have a fruit bowl too but it's rather monochromatic at the moment with just bananas and a lone mango. My middle daughter Loooves mangoes and so I try to pick one up when I'm in Aldi.

I hope you can run again soon!

Your veggies are gorgeous! And I'm glad you're smart with the icing (writing that makes me visualize you with a tube of frosting, making designs on your leg) - I'm sure that made a big difference. I can't ever leave well enough alone, personally.

I know the feeling of just wanting to sprint! Hope your foot feels better now.

Be careful with that foot!

We still have to get our sweet potatoes, then we will be done with the garden too. We really let it go with the craziness that was September.
