Not Okay.

Am no longer moving. After I gave my notice to Gay Boyfriend, she told me she wanted $125 more than I agreed to. She tried to call and justify it. But who DOES that? Seriously. I have been bawling. I was so excited to move somewhere new and light and bright. No longer. I am staying in the basement. Thank God Gay Boyfriend is okay with that. The man that was going to move in is also okay with it, or I would be homeless at the end of the month.

This is just the icing on the cake. This year sucks. 2011? I don't like you, at all.

Sucks yes, but don't we know that things just happen for a reason? Better to find out now that your new landlord is that dishonorable than having moved and found out at a later stage. That kind of happened to me last year when I moved.

There will be somewhere better, brighter and more suitable for you Miss Kate, I can promise you that!

I'm so so sad to hear this. That kind of thing sucks. Anything I can do to help?

Have you signed anything? If so, and she backs out, you have a legal claim.

1. You don't want someone who would do that as your landlord.

2. Keep looking, your perfect place it out there.

3. Have your cry, then chin up!

Wow that is so disappointing. I'm sorry Kate. But I agree with everyone else, thank goodness you weren't at the door with your bag packed, when you found out you couldn't trust her.

Was she just looking for someone with good taste to pick out paint colors for her? I know there is a perfect place for you. Keep your eyes peeled.

Sounds like a crappy landlord to me- at least you found out before you moved in. Another place will come along. In the meantime, at least you get along with Gay Boyfriend and you are not homeless!!

And yeah, 2011 can SUCK IT.

Suckitude indeed! Argh. I'm so sorry to hear that. On the bright side? You won't have to be stressed out about moving while you're on vacation next week! :) The time wasn't right, the landlord (obviously) wasn't right. Of course it's okay to feel disappointed, but this only happened because something better is out there!!

Sometimes it's better to sleep with the devil you know instead of the devil you don't know. Meaning, as "perfect" as the new place sounded, there could've been huge issues with it (crazy landlord, anyone?!). Don't get too discouraged - there will be other bright and light places for you to move - you've just got to keep looking.

That totally sucks, but she's got bad karma coming her way, you don't worry about it. I'm with Nilsa, keep looking, that's not the only place!

COME TO BALTIMORE AND LIVE WITH ME! My apartment is teeny but it's super sunny. We can lay on the living room floor and soak in the shine.

I'm sorry. But keep looking - there has to be a sunny apartment out there with your name on it!
