It's time for another garden post. I can't help it. Here's the tie hanger trellis for the peas that was erected on 5/2/2010
Here's what it looks like on 6/23/2010. I had to add a stake in the back last weekend. And this morning, I added the pitchfork. Then my dad suggested string for it to climb. So, I attached it to the stake and strung it over to the fence. I think that's going to be great! Until it reaches the fence. And then I have no idea what to do.
The green bean trellis on 5/2/2010
And on 6/23/ 2o10. One of the neat things I read about teepee trellises is that they are great hiding places for kids when they start to climb. Can you imagine being a little kid and hiding in the garden? How fun would THAT be? I would imagine a little book worm would love it in there. Obviously, mine's not big enough, but the idea that there's a hiding place in there makes me happy.
Here's what I see when I sit at the table in the morning for my meditation time. I'm learning to use an editor. Don't laugh. I'm trying.
And the other corner that I have to look backwards to.
These are beside the green beans.
And here's one of the planters on the bench directly behind me. It's starting to look like real lettuce!
This makes me inordinately happy. Like a ton. The peppers aren't doing so well, though. I'm not sure if it's been too wet for them, or what. And the lima beans may or may not recover from their infestation. The race is on for produce.

K8 - I am SO jealous of your amazing garden. Next summer I want you to help me plan mine!
totally digging your hard work and inventive solutions here...I'm coming back with my daughter in the am. she is 13, and this is first year or gardening all on her own! Yeah!
I absolutely LOVE your garden. All of your trellis's, etc remind me of Appalacian Art and I've always been crazy about that style..
Nurturing things, growing things, coaxing something into life is one of the most rewarding experiences anyone can have (in my humble opinion). Congrats! It is all looking good!!
Peppers can do with a lot less water than some plants..
Lovely! You'll be eating healthy in no time!
I love the before and after photos of your garden. It's amazing what 6 weeks and a lot of rain will do!
Wow, your garden really grows!
Maybe you should hang some ties over that trellis, just until the peas get growing.
What an awesome garden...and I love the idea that your peas are going to escape over the fence, lol!
I'm going to come visit so you can make me the BEST SALAD IN THE WORLD!!!!!
It's so cool that plants can climb! I wish we had a real back yard so we could do some climbers.
Ha. I bet our lettuce is ready. Oops. We better go pick it!
