Internet, have I got a surprise for you! Remember this thing in the garden? How I told you it wasn't doing anything but standing there looking pretty and making vibrant green leaves and tendrils? Well. I was doing a little repair to the tomato plants after a very bad storm we had on Tuesday night and I thought I'd just tuck a few of those tendrils in.
Look what I found!!!!! Lima beans! I grew lima beans! I had no idea they were hiding in there!
Want a closer look?
So there. I grew my very own lima beans. And when you open the pods, they look just like LIMA BEANS! I know. I'm a freak. But whatever. I grew lima beans. Lima beans. Lima beans. Do you want me to stop saying it now? I texted all my friends. And funny - no one responded.

Weirdos.

It was difficult to find those lima beans, because they were going undercover as snap peas. Seriously.

Open one up for us. I want to see the inside bean because they look just like snap peas to me.

BTW - cute shoes!

I though lima beans only came frozen in a square box. I'm with the Good Cook - open one up and take a picture!

P.S. LOVE YOUR SHOES!!!

I failed miserably when it came to my garden, I got one very puny green bean and one cherry tomato. Better luck next year?!

Hi Kate, thanks for your comments on my Blog. I just accidently became Foller 80 and 81 here. Besides being an avg athlete trying to qualify for Boston, I am a foodie too. You blog looks fun.

Yummy yum! Lima beans are a much-maligned food, in my opinion.

I'm a lima bean-hater. I'm guessing your garden version and your preps are better than the suet-textured from-frozen villians of my childhood.

Congratulations!

I love the shoes.

Surprise lima beans are AWESOME!!! I love lima beans under almost any conditions, but surprise lima beans? I can only hope to be so lucky one day.
