Giving Up and Giving In

I am having some serious dental work done tomorrow. I am not happy. But it has to be done, right? The last time was awful. Pure awfulness. So, I'm trying not to stress out about it. My Ipod is in my purse; I am hoping that helps. When I made the appointment, I asked if they ever used laughing gas and they said no, but I could certainly get a prescription from my doctor for Xanax or Klonopin. And well? I'm a freaking addict, so no. I can't. And, I suffer through. I know it's a matter of a few hours of uncomfortableness, but it sucks nonetheless. I only hope this one goes better. I lose my dental insurance with my new job, so there is no question that I cannot turn back.

I am NOT looking forward to it.

At all.

oh... you just reminded me that I really need to make an appointment to have my teeth cleaned.
Good Luck with the dental work. NOVACAINE!

ps. I call my dentist Sweet Air Willy. Nothing like a little gas!

Ugh. I hate dentists. I keep telling him not to take it personally, but every time I see my dentist I have this almost irresistable urge to punch him in the mouth.

Gah. I hope you are OK. I am doing a dental visit today too but only for a cleaning. Even then, it's still one of my least favorite places to go.

I'm sorry Kate - I know it's worse when you can't get any extra relief that most people can...chocolate afterward?

I need to get my teeth cleaned and two cavities fixed. They are very small cavities...not hurting yet. But it needs to be done. It sucks

Aaaaand I had a total panic attack before they even started. There was shaking and tears and hyperventilating and a shot of some sort. Then some hot blankets and since I couldn't stop, they actually did pull out the gas.

Those nice, nice dental assistants were wonderful. But still. Gah.

It's over.

Yay! It's over! You survived!

Yikes, I'm glad it's over. I hate the dentist, but then again, who doesn't, right?

While you're recovering, you can read "Half Baked" by Alexa Stevenson from flotsamblog.com. It's about her attempts at getting pregnant, conceiving twins, losing one and then the premature birth of the daughter. Total tearjerker.

I need a new book now too... advice?

Yay, you survived! And now it's over! Yay again!

It's smart to get all this crap done before you lose the insurance on it.

Oh my. The procedure must already be behind you, but recovery without painkillers? You have my sympathy. Good thing there's soup in the freezer - something you can eat while your kisser's still sore.
